BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for portions of eastern Florida, including Titusville, Mims, and Oak Hill, effective until 8 p.m. ET.

Residents in the affected areas are urged to seek shelter immediately as the storm system moves through the region.

The warning indicates the potential for damaging winds, hail, and frequent lightning, along with heavy rainfall that could lead to localized flooding.

Those in the impacted area can expect:

– wind gusts up to 60 mph
– hail the size of quarters or larger
– Dangerous lightning
– Torrential rainfall reducing visibility and increasing risk of hydroplaning
