BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA—Brevard Public Schools participated in the Space STEM Pilot Program at no cost through the generous Space Systems Command and Space STEM Outreach program.

This April, in honor of the Month of the Military Child, Brevard Public Schools is excited to celebrate its partnership with the United States Space Force.

Six Title I elementary schools, including Cambridge Elementary School, Columbia Elementary, Jupiter Elementary, Lockmar Elementary, Port Malabar Elementary, and Saturn Elementary, participated in the outreach.

During the program, students built and then launched paper rockets over 100 feet with pneumatic air launchers, learning about rockets and space from Guardians and Engineers of the USSF.

Collaboration with the Space Force is a shining example of how military organizations in our community help empower and inspire students, especially those from military families.

Throughout the Month of the Military Child, Brevard Public Schools honors the resilience and strength of these young learners, who often face unique challenges.
“Here’s to our continued collaboration and to the bright future of military children and STEM stars,” said a BPS spokesperson.
