Water Main Break in Mims Prompts Precautionary Boil Water Notice

Brevard County utility crews are working to repair a water main break that occurred on Wiley Avenue in Mims. Repairs are still underway.

BREVARD COUNTY • MIMS, FLORIDA – Brevard County utility crews are working to repair a water main break that occurred on Wiley Avenue in Mims. Repairs are still underway, as of Friday afternoon.

Once service is restored, a precautionary boil water notice will be issued for residents living on the following streets:

▪️West Hickory Circle

▪️East Hickory Circle

▪️Orange Avenue

▪️Myrtle Avenue

▪️Wiley Avenue

▪️Ash Terrace

Residents not located on these streets are not affected.

Affected residents are advised to boil water for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, washing dishes, or making ice. Bottled water may be used as an alternative.

The boil water notice will remain in effect until water service is fully restored and a bacteriological survey confirms the water is safe to drink.
