Titusville Man Driving Motorcycle Killed in Crash Involving Freightliner Tractor-Trailer on U.S. 1

POLICE: John Eric Love, 49, of Liberty Tree Road in Titusville Killed in Motorcycle crash

John Eric Love, 49, of Liberty Tree Road in Titusville, died after colliding with a tractor-trailer at 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, on U.S. Hwy. 1 at LaGrange Road in Titusville.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – The driver of a motorcycle died after colliding with a tractor-trailer at 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, on U.S. Hwy. 1 at LaGrange Road in Titusville.

According to a Titusville police spokesperson, based on witness accounts, physical evidence, and video from the truck involved, the preliminary investigation revealed a 2000 Harley-Davidson operated eastbound on La Grange Road by John Eric Love, 49, of Liberty Tree Road in Titusville ran the stop sign at S. Washington Avenue (U.S. Hwy. 1) and was struck by a 2023 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Robert Lee Lewis Jr. of Mims.

Love was pronounced deceased at the scene.

“Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the crash,” said a Titusville police spokesperson.

The driver of the tractor-trailer will not face any charges in this incident.
