BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — A devastating crash on Interstate 95 in Brevard County claimed the life of a 32-year-old Titusville mother on Monday afternoon, leaving her three young children injured and a community in mourning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal collision occurred shortly before 12:30 p.m. on I-95 South near the Pineda Causeway. Olivia Maggs was driving a 2023 Honda Odyssey in the inside lane with her three children when a nearby pickup truck suffered a sudden tire blowout.

The driver of the 2003 Ford F-350, a 58-year-old man from Babylon, New York, lost control of the vehicle, veering into the van Maggs was driving. The impact forced both vehicles off the roadway and into a guardrail. Maggs died at the scene.

Her children—an 8-month-old daughter and two sons, aged 3 and 4—were rushed to nearby hospitals. The baby girl sustained serious injuries, including a broken femur and a brain bleed, and was airlifted for treatment. The boys are expected to recover.

The driver of the pickup and his 20-year-old passenger were uninjured and remained on the scene as authorities began their investigation. The precise cause of the tire blowout remains unclear, and troopers say the crash is still under investigation.

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we share the tragic loss of one of our beloved Care Partners, Olivia Maggs. Olivia was a dedicated nurse at Parrish Healthcare for nearly nine years and touched countless lives through her compassion and unwavering commitment. She began her journey as a graduate nurse in our MedSurg Department before moving to our Women’s Center, where her warmth and love for children radiated through her work. Olivia’s kindness, strength and gentle spirit left a lasting impact on her patients, fellow Care Partners and everyone fortunate enough to know her. Our hearts are with her family, friends and children during this unimaginable time. We are grieving alongside them and will forever carry her memory in our hearts.
