BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA —  SpaceX successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket Tuesday morning from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, deploying 23 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit. Thirteen of the satellites are equipped with Direct to Cell capability, expanding SpaceX’s efforts to deliver satellite-based cellular connectivity.

Liftoff occurred at 9:05 a.m. ET, right at the opening of the scheduled launch window. The mission marked the 12th flight for the Falcon 9 first-stage booster, which had previously supported high-profile missions including Crew-8, Polaris Dawn, CRS-31, IM-2, the Astranis: From One to Many payload, and six earlier Starlink deployments.

Following stage separation, the booster executed a successful landing on the Just Read the Instructions droneship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean, continuing SpaceX’s tradition of booster reusability and precision recovery.

This latest Starlink mission further boosts SpaceX’s growing satellite constellation and its push toward global broadband coverage, particularly through its newer Direct to Cell feature, which aims to eliminate cellular dead zones by linking standard mobile phones directly to orbiting satellites.

SpaceX is targeting Tuesday, June 10 for a Falcon 9 launch of 23 Starlink satellites, including 13 with Direct to Cell capabilities, to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. (Image by SpaceX)
