BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA — The Cocoa Police Department has expanded its commitment to public safety by operating a patrol boat to serve the community on the water as effectively as it does on land.

The department’s Marine Unit vessel is designated for specialized operations, including patrols, search and rescue missions, and salvage efforts.

This vessel will be a regular presence on the waterways within city limits, acting as both a deterrent to unlawful activity and a source of support for the boating public.

The patrol boat will also be used to enforce state and local marine laws, ensuring safety and compliance on the water.

In addition to these duties, the Marine Unit will be available to assist in drug interdiction operations when called upon, further strengthening the department’s overall public safety strategy.

Through this initiative, the Cocoa Police Department aims to maintain a safe and secure environment across all areas of the city, including its waterways.
