Brevard County to See High of 85 on Saturday, Strong Cold Front Will Drop Temps into 40s By Tuesday Night

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, low around 68

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Space Coast residents can expect a quick shift in the weather over the next few days as warm, breezy conditions give way to some of the coldest air of the season early next week.
According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, temperatures will climb slightly above normal through the weekend before a strong cold front moves through the area late Sunday into Monday.
Once the front passes, a noticeable chill will set in across Central Florida.
By Monday night into Tuesday morning, lows are forecast to dip into the upper 40s, with wind gusts up to 25 mph making it feel even colder.
Tuesday morning’s wake-up temperatures will be among the lowest so far this fall, forecasters said.
“Some of the coldest air we’ve experienced so far this season arrives Monday night into Tuesday morning,” meteorologists noted. Afternoon highs on Tuesday are expected to reach the mid-60s, but the brisk winds will keep things feeling cool throughout the day.
There’s a slight 20% chance of rain through the weekend as the front approaches, though most of Brevard County should remain dry.
As for how long the chill will last, temperatures are expected to rebound by midweek gradually, but cool mornings will likely linger for several days.
Officials remind residents that cold weather shelters typically open when overnight temperatures are expected to drop below 45 degrees. Announcements regarding any openings will likely be made over the weekend.
So, enjoy the warm weekend sunshine while it lasts — Central Florida’s first authentic taste of fall is on the way.
