BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – For Brock Lustic, the journey from youth leagues in Brevard County to a Division I baseball commitment has been built on patience, growth, and a relentless love for the game.
This fall, the Eau Gallie High School senior made that dream official, signing with the University of South Alabama to continue his baseball career at the next level.
A right-handed pitcher known for his composure and command on the mound, Lustic has steadily developed into the ace of the Eau Gallie Commodores’ staff.
His signing with the Jaguars in mid-November is the culmination of years of incremental improvement — and a breakthrough commitment that came months earlier, when he pledged to South Alabama in July.
Like many young athletes, Lustic’s early sports experience was defined by variety. A dual-sport athlete growing up, he found success in more than one arena, but baseball ultimately captured his heart.
“I fell in love with the diamond,” Lustic has said of his path, one that began in youth leagues where he rotated through multiple positions. By the time he reached high school, however, it became clear where his future would lie — on the mound.
While he did not immediately command the spotlight as a freshman pitcher, signs of promise were evident. As opportunities increased, so did his confidence and performance.

Meanwhile, he remained a steady contributor at the plate, producing 25 RBIs and three home runs over three varsity seasons, proof of his all-around athletic skill set.
But it was his evolution as a pitcher that ultimately reshaped his trajectory. As a sophomore, Lustic made eight appearances and recorded a respectable 2.53 ERA, showing flashes of his growing potential.
Then came the leap. In his junior season, he not only took on a heavier workload — 12 appearances — but also elevated his performance to another level.
Despite finishing with a 5-5 record, his 1.67 ERA told the real story: Lustic had become one of the most reliable arms in the rotation, consistently giving the Commodores a chance to win every time he took the ball.
That development did not go unnoticed.
College recruiters began paying closer attention as his junior year unfolded, and by mid-summer, Lustic found his future home at the University of South Alabama. The program, which competes in Division I, offered him the opportunity he had worked toward since his first days on the field.
Now, with his National Letter of Intent signed, Lustic is preparing for the next chapter — one that will take him from Melbourne to Mobile, Alabama, where he will don a Jaguars uniform and test his talents at one of the highest collegiate levels in the sport.
For Eau Gallie, Lustic’s signing represents more than just a personal milestone; it’s a point of pride for the program, which has watched one of its own grow into a Division I athlete through discipline, persistence, and belief.
