Cocoa police seek suspect in child sexual battery investigation
BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA — The Cocoa Police Department is asking for the public’s help to locate a man wanted in connection with the sexual battery of a child under the age of 12.
Police said Edy Alexander Espinoza-Lopez, 43, is the subject of an active felony arrest warrant stemming from a child sexual battery investigation.
Authorities said Espinoza-Lopez is wanted on charges of Sexual battery upon a person under 12 years of age, Lewd or lascivious molestation, Lewd or lascivious battery, and Lewd or lascivious conduct.
According to police, Espinoza-Lopez is believed to reside at 1107 Greenwood Way in Cocoa.
Cocoa police detectives say he is known to travel either by bicycle or in a silver Honda belonging to his employer, Jose Miguel Melendez, bearing Florida tag JX943F.
Police said Espinoza-Lopez works in landscaping and may be seen during morning hours, approximately 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., in the area of 3750 North Cocoa Boulevard in Cocoa, or at 4100 Dianthus Lane in Titusville.
Authorities are urging anyone who sees Espinoza-Lopez not to approach him and to contact local law enforcement immediately.
