Nature Walk Offers Stroll Through Moore Memorial Park

BREVARD COUNTY • MIMS, FLORIDA – No better way to recharge for a new year than by getting outside and visiting with Mother Nature.

To that end, a nature walk will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at The Harry T. & Harriette V. Moore Memorial Park, 2180 Freedom Avenue in Mims.

Participants will stroll through the Moore Center’s path of native trees and plants to enjoy the birds and learn about the native plants.

Following the walk, guests will convene at the pavilion to enjoy the camaraderie that the outdoors gives.

Laura Erickson of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and Erin Hoelscher and Barbara Hoelscher of the Friends of the Enchanted Forest will demonstrate sketching techniques and discuss their careers regarding birding and education.

This event is free to attend and participants are encouraged to wear walking shoes, sunscreen and insect repellant and to bring water.
