Tom Palermo – President & Publisher
A resident of Brevard County, Florida for the past 30 years, Palermo has more than 35 years experience in the media business as a publisher, editor and industry consultant. During his career in both corporate and small business entrepreneurial environments, he has founded dozens of local, state, regional and national print and digital publications.
Palermo has written thousands of articles and columns for daily and weekly newspapers, magazines, trade publications and web sites – and hosted a weekly radio talk show for seven years. In 2005, Palermo founded Maverick Multimedia, Inc., which specializes in media-specific IT development, niche multimedia publishing and devising comprehensive strategic business and marketing plans.
Palermo is also co-founder of Brevard Production Inc., an organization that owns and produces some of the most significant and compelling annual special events in the region including the Central Humanitarian Awards, the Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame, the Space Coast State Fair, Cocoa Beach Spring Training, the Port Canaveral Seafood & Music Festival, the Space Coast Oktoberfest, Space Coast Home Shows, Space Coast Health Fair and many more.
The founder and president of the Space Coast Publishers Guild, Palermo works diligently on behalf of his industry in regard to innovation, and in upholding the highest standards of integrity.
Dr. Jim Palermo – Partner & Editor-In-Chief
Dr. Palermo, a 31-year resident of Brevard County, touched the lives of countless people during his 22-year practice of general, vascular and non-cardiac thoracic surgery.
In 2002 he transitioned from clinical practice, in which his impact was on an individual patient level, and accepted a position as full-time chief medical officer and vice president of quality management of Health First. Dr. Palermo made this career transformation based on his conviction that he could personally have a greater impact on improving the quality of healthcare on the Space Coast by more globally addressing quality and patient safety issues as a physician healthcare executive. During his ten years at Health First he was instrumental in establishing the patient-centered, patient- safe quality healthcare and service for which Health First is known throughout the Central Florida area.
An accomplished author and sought-after expert in the healthcare industry, Dr. Palermo is an independent consultant focused on healthcare quality and safety, and physician leadership development. He also serves on the board of directors of Florida Medical Quality Assurance Inc., a nationally recognized federal, state and private healthcare contractor dedicated to improving and ensuring the quality and safety of patient care across multiple states.
Dr. Palermo is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, the University of Missouri School of Medicine, did his surgical residency in the U.S. Army at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgery, and also attained a Masters of Science Degree in healthcare management in 2004 at the University of Texas at Dallas.
Dr. Palermo’s wife Kerry, a registered nurse to whom he’s been married 35 years, partners with him to run the Banyan Tree Ranch in Merritt Island, where they breed, raise and show American Quarter Horses and Labrador Retrievers.
His son, Joe, a well recognized local outdoorsman and Captain-owner of one of the most successful off-shore fishing charter businesses at Port Canaveral for the past 10 years, has a bachelors degree in business, and a masters degree in healthcare administration from UCF, and is a sales executive for an Orlando based healthcare device company that services all of Central Florida.
Dr. Palermo’s daughter, Michelle, was a varsity cheerleader at Merritt Island High School and state champion competitor in High School Rodeo, before attending and graduating with a BS in communications from the University of Georgia. She’s following in her father’s footsteps in the healthcare delivery field and attained her masters degree as a physician assistant from NOVA Southeast in Jacksonville and has worked in the emergency departments of Holmes Regional Medical Center and Palm Bay Hospital for three years.
Giles Malone — Partner & Vice President
As one of the most active entertainment, sports industry and media professionals on the Space Coast, Malone has left an indelible mark on Central Florida during his 28-year career.
Malone has helped Brevard County become a national leader in youth soccer and spring training for College and high school teams. He was inducted into the United Soccer Leagues Hall of Fame being recognized as one of the main builders of the game in the region.
As a founding member of the Space Coast Sports Commission in 1987, Malone has been instrumental in building the Space Coast as a premier destination for youth and amateur sports events which have had a profound effect on the business of sports tourism on the Space Coast. For more than 26 years, thousands of teams have participated in sports events created and produced by Malone’s sports management team, creating millions of dollars for the local tourism economy.
As co-founder and partner of independent publishing house – Maverick Multimedia Inc., Malone has worked with Tom and Jim Palermo to create and develop high-quality, publications like Space Coast Medicine & Active Living magazine, CentralFloridaMedicine.com and SpaceCoastDaily.com.
Malone is co-founder of Brevard Production Inc., an organization that owns and produces some of the most significant and compelling annual special events in Central Florida, including the Central Florida Humanitarian Awards, the Space Coast State Fair, Cocoa Beach Spring Training, Cocoa Beach Seafood & Music Festival, the Space Coast Spring Fair, The Space Coast Hall Of Fame, The Space Coast Public Service Awards & Hall of Fame, The Palm Bay Fair, Space Coast Medicine Week, Space Coast Home Shows, The Titusville Mardi Gras. The Doctors Goodwill Foundation events series, Space Coast Health Fair and many more.
While volunteering for numerous organizations within his community for 28 years , Giles has served as Chairman of the Space Coast Tourism Development Council, President of the Space Coast Sports Commission, Board Member of the Brevard County Environmentally Endangered Lands Committee, Board Member of the Beaches and Shores Beach Preservation Society, Board Member of the Board of Trustees of the Florida Tech Business School, Chairman of the Space Coast State Fair, Founding member of the Space Coast Sports Hall Of Fame and as a Board Member of the Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Central Florida.
Giles earned a B.A in Finance from The University of Louisiana (1984) and an M.B.A from Florida Tech (1986). Giles and his wife Alison have been married since 1988 and have four children – Megan, Victoria, Michael and Grace.
Joshua Adams – Partner & Technology Director
Joshua Adams lives and breathes web design and internet marketing… starting early in his programming career as an 11-year-old Qbasic programmer, Joshua later discovered the world of web design and the internet and was hooked!
Ever since, he has pushed his limits in the web design and internet marketing field. He has always been proud to provide high quality services and strives to help his clients succeed.
His professional passion is to use his programming and internet marketing abilities to help his clients produce results for their business online by providing simple solutions to the complex challenges they face. He does this by not only providing them with the customized tools (websites, social media pages, branding, email, etc) to do it, but by teaching them how to engage, educate and entertain their target audience both one-to-one and through speaking engagements to larger audiences.
Adams spends his free time learning all he can about web development and the internet marketing field, leadership, ministry… and playing ultimate Frisbee! Joshua is energized by teaching and interacting with other people. He is outgoing and always looking for ways to connect with others, especially those with like-interests.

Zach Clark – Managing Editor
Zach Clark brings an extensive background in all areas of digital media as he leads the Space Coast Daily news and information team. Clark has expert knowledge of social media; video production, in both front and back of the camera; radio broadcasting; and television production.
Clark, a native of Omaha, Nebraska, graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he earned his bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism. He directed various broadcast productions, and had his own sports talk show in Lincoln, Nebraska on 90.3 KRNU where he managed, wrote, produced and hosted, “The Zach Clark Show.”
In addition to his dedication to breaking news, social media and video production, Clark has a passion for all sports and is a die-hard Nebraska Cornhuskers’ fan and proud alum.
Clark attributes his success to his loving family and friends, but above all, his faith in God.
Charles Parker – Columnist and Reporter
Charles Parker is a longtime resident of Brevard County and has been writing for various publications for the last 40 years – both print and digital. Parker covers space, politics, religion, and other news and special events for Space Coast Daily.
Currently, he is an aerospace engineering teacher at Merritt Island High School. He is also the director of both the da Vinci Academy of Aerospace Technology and the Academy of Hospitality, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism at MIHS. He is a professor of Humanities and World Religions at Eastern Florida State College and Valencia College.
Parker has worked extensively in the tourism and aerospace industries in Brevard. He has also been a United Methodist pastor and director of a non-profit to help young adults aging out of foster care. He was formerly a board member at Brevard Achievement Center and the Childcare Association of Brevard. He was appointed by Governor Jeb Bush to the Children’s Services Council from 1999-2003.
Parker earned a BA in Organizational Management from Warner University and a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary.
He is married, has four children and one grandchild.

Cyndi Byars – Associate Editor & Marketing Consultant
A resident of Brevard County for 23 years, Byars began her career with the Howard, Merrell & Partners Advertising Agency in Raleigh after earning a B.A. in Business Management from North Carolina State University.
She managed market research for a Fortune 500 company and developed copy for dozens of marketing campaigns. For those efforts, Byars received recognition from the American Advertising Federation, winning an ADDY award for copywriting.
Byars is a pioneer in designing targeted multimedia marketing campaigns that provide very high value – and outstanding results – for her clients. Using innovative approaches, Byars designs results-driven strategies that combine Maverick Multimedia’s powerhouse vertical digital, print and event assets to grow her client’s revenue and branding.
As an associate editor of Maverick Multimedia’s innovative products, Byars has produced hundreds of articles and is an accomplished photographer and videographer. Cyndi lives with her husband and three children in Indialantic.
Paulle-Ann Harris – Associate Editor & Marketing Consultant
Paulle-Ann Harris is a people connector and highly experienced multimedia consultant. While her outstanding marketing and sales skills come naturally, what really makes her tick is the opportunity to meet with businesses and residents of the Space Coast.
Her strong and diverse experience in sales and marketing on the Space Coast includes radio, special events, credentialing and now as Associate Editor and Marketing Consultant for Maverick Multimedia, Paulle-Ann brings it all together.
Paulle-Ann has the unique ability to listen to her clients business challenges and come up with a multimedia solution that not only helps solve the issue but builds a solid business relationship dedicated to the future success of her clients.
As a creative writer and marketing specialist, Paulle-Ann is highly adept at using the Space Coast Daily platform for the maximum benefit of her clients, to expose them to their desired audience.
When Paulle-Ann is not working, you will see her enjoying time with her children, the beach, reading a good book, volunteering with local charities or finding new adventures. Paulle-Ann is also spearheading a new fundraising effort to help fight and increase awareness about Juvenile Arthritis.
Debbie Bissland – Social/Events Editor
A highly experienced event planner, Bissland assists the Maverick affiliated company – Brevard Productions – in all facets of special event planning. Debbie is a meticulous event planner and professional who pays attention to every detail to ensure that the BPI events are enjoyable for all the guests.
Bissland has been instrumental in the planning and production of the highly acclaimed Central Florida Humanitarian Awards Dinner and Induction Ceremony and is actively involved in the Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame Banquet and Induction Ceremony.
Bissland is in charge of managing Maverick Multimedia’s social, celebrations and event coverage in all of their print and digital properties. A strong supporter of many local charities and foundations, Bissland has worked tirelessly in the support of numerous successful fundraisers.
