The event began last year as part of a tribute to karate master Soke Takayoshi Nagamine, the son of the founder of the style Shoshin Nagamine.

“We are honored to host this event and to honor this great karate master,” said school sensei Des Chaskelson.

Takayoshi Nagamine visited Cocoa beach in 2011 and conducted seminars attended by karate practitioners from all over North America.

The event will feature participants from across North America, including confirmed participants from Puerto Rico, Ohio, Missouri, Minnesota, California and various parts of Florida. Additionally, seventh-degree black belt members will be attending from Canada.

The event spans three days and begins at 7:30 p.m. July 18 with instructions on kata, or form, from high-ranking members and applications.
