ABOVE VIDEO: With our focus on student success, Florida Institute of Technology’s mission is to provide high-quality education to a culturally diverse student body in order to prepare students for entering the global workforce, seeking higher-education opportunities, and serving within their communities. The university also seeks to expand knowledge through basic and applied research and to serve the diverse economic, cultural and societal needs of our local, state, national and international constituencies.

BREVARD COUNTRY • MELBOURNE – The Florida Institute of Technology is one of just nine public and private schools in Florida chosen by the 2014 Fiske Guide to Colleges.

The Fiske Guide calls itself selective and subjective. It doesn't try to cover all of the United States' more than 2,200 four-year colleges but showcases the colleges it considers best, most interesting and the ones that students "most want to know about."
Fiske rates colleges separately, from one to five, on academics, social life and quality of life. A grade of three, which Florida Tech got in each area, is the typical score of schools in the book.

The university was featured by the top-rated guide to the best colleges, which was just published earlier in July. The guide places Florida Tech under the heading, “Engineering/Top Technical Institutes.”

HOW THE GUIDE WORKS

The Fiske Guide calls itself selective and subjective. It doesn’t try to cover all of the United States’ more than 2,200 four-year colleges but showcases the colleges it considers best, most interesting and the ones that students “most want to know about.” USA Today calls the book, “The best college guide you can buy.”

The 2014 edition selects the country’s best and most interesting colleges and universities from among all the four-year U.S. institutions. In addition, an effort was made to achieve geographic diversity and a balance of public and private schools.

Fiske rates colleges separately, from one to five, on academics, social life and quality of life. A grade of three, which Florida Tech got in each area, is the typical score of schools in the book.

Florida Tech is regularly lauded in other guides, such as those by U.S. News and World ReportPayscale.com and the Princeton Review.
