WASHINGTON D.C. – Below is a statement from U.S. Senators Bill Nelson (D-FL) and Marco Rubio (R-FL) on the shooting at a Marine recruitment center in Chattanooga.
“We all mourn the senseless loss of life in Chattanooga,” Nelson said. “Sadly, the violence there yesterday was the latest in a string of recent shootings at stateside U.S. military facilities. We absolutely must take steps to increase our domestic protection.”
U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement:
“As we learn more details, my thoughts and prayers today are with the victims of this senseless attack and with their families as they grieve this devastating loss and comfort the wounded.
This attack is a reminder of the risks our men and women in uniform take every day, in peacetime as well as during war, at home and abroad, to defend the freedoms we hold dear.
God bless these Marines and their families.”
