FLORIDA TECH VS. NORTH GREEBVILLE GAME PREVIEW
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOUNRE, FLORIDA – For the first time in the history of the program, Florida Tech football is headed to the NCAA Division II Football Playoffs after earning the No. 3 seed in Super Region 2.
The Panthers will host No. 6 seed North Greenville on Saturday at Florida Tech Panther Stadium. The time of the game and ticket information is yet to be determined and will be released as soon as it is available.
FIT rounded out the regular season with three consecutive wins over Valdosta State, West Georgia and Delta State, finishing with an 8-2 record, including a 5-2 mark in Gulf South Conference play. The Panthers lead the GSC both rushing offense (225.4), rushing defense (85.1) and total offense (479.7).
The Crusaders completed the regular season with a 7-4 record. NGU played three common opponents with the Panthers, defeating West Alabama in the season opener and falling to Newberry and North Alabama.
The Crusaders are led by quarterback Will Hunter, who has passed for 2,421 yards and 18 touchdowns, while running back Tracy Scott has racked up 826 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground.
Defensively, linebacker Sam Houston has accumulated 104 total tackles, including 11.5 for a loss, while defensive back Nigel Gay has posted three interceptions.
