BREVARD COUNTY * MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – A pair of suspects involved in the alleged theft of a landscaping truck that had been reported stolen on Saturday were taken into custody Sunday morning after the owner of the vehicle spotted it in a shopping center parking lot at the intersection of State Road A1A and Eau Gallie Causeway.

According to Sgt. Scott Lindsley with the Melbourne Police Department, the vehicle’s owner was visiting a bagel shop in the shopping center when he saw his stolen truck in the parking lot.

“He (the owner) called it in and we notified beachside units,” Lindsley said.

Police say the suspects left the shopping center as police units converged.

After the suspects drove a short distance south of the shopping center, police successfully deployed stop sicks and the suspects were taken into custody.
