BREVARD COUNTY • SATELLITE BEACH, FLORIDA – Workers have completed the North Drainage project, replacing old existing storm drain lines between the unincorporated South Patrick Park area and Brevard Public Schools property in Satellite Beach.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency gave Satellite Beach 75 percent of the funding for the project, with the remaining costs paid through an agreement between the city of Satellite Beach, Brevard County and Brevard Public Schools.
In January, the Satellite Beach City Council also awarded a bid to make improvements for air conditioning and lightning improvements at the Satellite Beach Civic Center.

The project will replace existing air conditioning and lighting with high-tech and efficient equipment to reduce energy consumption and hold down operating costs.
Costs for the project and associated work will be funded through an Energy Efficiency Block Grant.
The project was awarded to Competitive Air & Heat, a Satellite Beach company and is expected to be finished by May.
During the work, the Civic Center will remain open.
