Margie Jean Spears Akelewicz, Broke Loose From Her Earthly Bonds

OBITUARY

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA — Margie Jean Spears Akelewicz, 65, of Merritt Island,  passed away  April 14, 2012.

Margie broke loose from her earthly bonds and took the hand of Jesus on April 14, 2012. She now basks in the light of His love and dwells with Him and all the Faithful departed in Heaven.

Margie was born in Logan, West Virginia and moved to Titusville, where she attended Titusville High School.

Margie also attended Brevard Community College.

She lived in Titusville until her marriage subsequently moved to Merritt Island, Florida.

She was a congregant of Divine Mercy Catholic Church.

She was one of the first group of Candy Stripers at Jess Parrish Hospital and later worked there as a Ward Secretary.

She subsequently went to work at the Cape for Grumman Technical Services.

Margie was an active Member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and also the Women of the Moose, Merritt Island Chapter 1544.

Margie is survived by her mother, LaHoma Spears Vance of Titusville; her sister, Frankie Spears Esposito of Logan, West Virginia; and her brother, Jody Spears of Mims. Her husband, Richard Akelewicz; daughters, Savannah Rae Akelewicz of Merritt Island, Mary Ann Tallent of Gaffney, South Carolina; and grandchildren, Aiden and Collin of Merritt Island, and many friends and relatives throughout the South.

Calling Hours, Wednesday, April 18, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., at Beckman – Williamson Funeral Home, 5400 Village Drive, Viera, Florida. 32955.

Funeral Mass will be Thursday, 11:00 a.m., at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Merritt Island, Florida, and interment will follow at Brevard Memorial Park, Frontenac, Florida.
