BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Professional Firefighters Local 2969 has endorsed Helen Voltz for Brevard County Commissioner. This endorsement follows those of former U.S. Congressman Dave Weldon and Brevard County Sheriff Jack Parker.
Voltz is running in the Republican Primary for District 3 which includes parts of Palm Bay, Melbourne, Melbourne Beach, Barefoot Bay, Malabar, Grant and Valkaria. The primary election is on August 14,2012.
Voltz will debate her opponents, including current commissioner Trudie Infantini, on July 19 during a forum hosted by the Republican Women’s Network of South Brevard. The debate will be held at the Eau Gallie Yacht Club at 11:30 am.
“Helen is one of the most tireless and dedicated community servants I have ever had the honor of working with,” said Parker, who has served as Brevard County’s sheriff since 2004.
“I know we can always count on Helen to make the best decisions for our county. I hope you will join me in supporting Helen Voltz for District 3 County Commissioner,” said Parker.
“I have known and worked with Helen Voltz for 20 years. She is honest, hard working and a solid conservative – the kind of person we need serving in government and she has my support,” said Weldon.
Weldon, who represented the Space Coast from 1994 to 2008 in the U.S. House of Representatives, announced last Friday that he will join two other Republicans seeking to unseat incumbent Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson.
Voltz, a resident of Brevard County for over 33 years, served as Commissioner for Brevard County’s 3rd District from 2004-2008. Voltz’s past public service also includes four years as Commissioner for District 5 (1996-2000) and three years on the Palm Bay City Council (1990-1993).
During the past two years, Voltz has also served as president of the Republican Women’s Network.
