BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Investigators are trying to find out who struck and killed a Cocoa Beach woman early Wednesday morning  as she walked along Highway A1A.

Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman Sgt. Kim Montes said troopers are investigating what they believe is a fatal hit-and-run crash.

Montes said that Tedah Branch of Cocoa Beach, 34, was found lying on the side of northbound Highway A1A, near 33rd Street at about 7 a.m. Wednesday by passing motorists.

“Troopers continue to investigate to determine what time she may have been struck,” Montes said.

Estimates by troopers say the crash took place sometime between 2 and 5 a.m.

Apparently an unknown vehicle traveling north on Highway A1A and then left the roadway and struck the woman who was walking on the grass shoulder.

The vehicle, which may be a 2011 Dodge Caravan, fled the scene following the crash.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call FHP at 1-407-737-2213.
