Ninth Straight Defeat For Titans

TAMPA, FLORIDA – The Brevard Community College women’s basketball team closed the 2012 portion of its schedule with a loss on Friday night, falling 74-55 to Hillsborough Community College in Tampa.

BCC fell to 2-12 with its ninth straight defeat.

Hillsborough improved to 9-5.

Sophomore Briana Reeves led BCC with 14 points and nine rebounds. BCC’s Shante Stevenson and Shaneece Stephens contributed 11 and 10 points respectively.

Freshman Kiersten Colgan added six rebounds while freshman Kendall Hedgecock and sophomore Olivia Atwell contributed five apiece.

“We played well in the first half but didn’t execute well in the second half,” BCC head coach Renee Bellamy said. “We have to put two halves together in order for us to win.”

BCC kicks off the 2013 portion of its season at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday hosting St. Louis Community College at the Melbourne Campus gym.

BCC then begins Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference play by hosting Broward College at 2 p.m. Saturday in Melbourne.
