Road Work and Utility Projects Currently Underway Across City of Palm Bay Will Result in Traffic Delays

The City of Palm Bay Public Works Department has announced a series of temporary road and lane closures as part of ongoing utility and paving projects across the city.

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA — The City of Palm Bay Public Works Department has begun a series of temporary road and lane closures as part of ongoing utility and paving projects across the city. 

These closures are scheduled to accommodate work being performed by contractors for both Florida Power & Light (FPL) and the City’s Public Works Department.

FPL Utility Construction – Emerald Lake Development

Cypress Gulf, the contractor for the Emerald Lake development, will carry out utility construction at the following locations:

Gerona Street SE, just northeast of Creech Avenue SE at the FPL easement: Full road closure with detour in place since Wednesday, July 10 at 7 a.m., unitl Wednesday, July 17 at 5 p.m.

Paigo Street SE, west of Cogan Avenue: Full road closure with detour since Monday, July 8 at 7 a.m. through Monday, July 15 at 5 p.m.

Channelizing devices and detour signage will be deployed to manage traffic flow and ensure public safety during these operations.

Road Paving – Go Road Paving Unit 57 and 37:

Ranger Construction, working on behalf of Palm Bay Public Works, will be conducting paving operations at the following location:

Community College Parkway, from Babcock Street to Treeland Boulevard: Road closure with detour since Wednesday, July 10 through Wednesday, July 17, daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

All work zones will require temporary road closures and detours. Motorists are urged to use caution in these areas and plan alternate routes to minimize travel delays.
