BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The world lost many luminaries, celebrities and famous people in the past 12 months.

As we prepare to enter a new year, perhaps it’s time to take a quick look back at some of the most notable deaths from 2012 and review the list of global personalities who have departed the spotlight.

The list includes authors, comedians, sports stars, actors and more.

Young and old, accomplished and lacking, eventually all of us take our last breath.
