On Monday, Feb. 25 Florida Institute of Technology’s Foosaner Art Museum will display works of Irene Neal, an abstract painter from Merritt Island at 10 a.m., in the Harris Community Auditorium.

Neal, inspired by the tradition of Jackson Pollock and the Abstract Expressionism movement, reinterprets this tradition by using new, state-of-the-art acrylic paints and gel medium.

Experimenting with new materials, she reveals beauty through the coalescence of liquefied color.

After graduating from Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pa., in 1958, Neal lived, worked and studied in Brazil, Portugal, Argentina and Puerto Rico for the next 16 years. She has exhibited her works in museums and galleries worldwide, including New York, Paris, Canada, Brazil and the Czech Republic.
