Cocoa Police Arrest Suspect Overheard Making Threats

No Gun Found During Incident

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Police have arrested a suspect who was overheard making threats of violence at Brevard Community College’s Cocoa campus on Thursday.

Officer Barbara Matthews of the Cocoa Police Department said at about 5 p.m. Thursday, officers received a call from a witness saying a man was talking to himself and overheard making threats that included violence at BCC.

Matthews said the suspect was observed into the campus library.

Police quickly responded to the area and began searching the library.

Cocoa Police were assisted by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, who were training near by at the time.

Matthews said officers made contact with the subject on the second floor of the library and he was taken into custody without incident.

No gun was located by officers stemming from the incident.

Matthew said the suspect, Isaiah Devall Wilson, 21, denied making the statements.

She said investigators believe that Wilson may have some medical issues that contributed to this incident and his behavior.

Wilson was charged with disruption of a school function, a 2nd degree misdemeanor, and transported to the Brevard County Jail.
