Tropical Storm Chantal Forms In Atlantic Ocean

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — The National Hurricane Center in Miami has issued an advisories on Tropical Storm Chantal.

As of the latest update, Chantal is located east of the windward islands at 10.6N, 50.6W about 630 Miles East Southeast of Barbados, with maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour, moving West at 26 miles per hour, with minimum central pressure at 1007 M.

The storm does not present an immediate threat to Florida and formation is not expected during the next 48 hours, but projection models include paths along Florida’s Atlantic coast.
