More than 6,000 fans to jam Pirate stadium

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Tickets to Florida Tech’s inaugural football game on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m.against Stetson at Palm Bay High School’s Pirate Stadium sold out on Wednesday.

For the first time since tickets went on sale, FIT students had the chance to pick up a free ticket to the first-ever game earlier this week. In a 14-hour span, 1,043 tickets were distributed to the students, solidifying a sellout.

Tickets remain for the Panthers’ five other home games, including their nationally televised game on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. ET against last year’s Gulf South Conference Champion West Alabama.

The Panthers will also play at Pirate Stadium in Melbourne against Shorter on Oct. 19, their Homecoming Game against Warner on Oct. 26, North Alabama on Nov. 9 and Webber International on Nov. 16.

Tickets can be purchased at FloridaTechSports.com, in person at the Clemente Center Ticket Office Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and by calling the ticket office at 321-674-6228.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for FIT faculty and staff with school ID, seniors ages 65 and above, children ages 5-16 and active duty military with ID. Children under five years of age are free.

In addition to FIT’s six home games, it will play at Newberry (Sept. 14), Delta State (Sept. 28), defending NCAA Division II National Champion Valdosta State (Oct. 5), Ave Maria (Oct. 12) and West Georgia (Oct. 31).

The Panthers’ game at West Georgia will be shown live on regional television channels Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS), Mediacom, Alabama Cable Network (ACN), TV-24 in Anniston, Ala., CoxSports (CST) and ESPN3, where available.
