Nathan Hufnagel Named SSC Swimmer of the Week

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Tech’s Nathan Hufnagel was named Sunshine State Conference Men’s Swimmer of the Week presented by VALIC on Monday. The honor is his first of his Panther career.

Hufnagel, a freshman from Marietta, Ga., won three races in the Panthers’ 147-94 victory at Rollins last Saturday.

His first win of the meet came in the opening event, the 200-yard medley relay. Tyler Phelps, Victor Westerlund, Logan Szarka and Hufnagel posted a mark of 1:37.61. He then touched the timing pad first in the 50-yard breastroke at a mark of 27.36. He concluded his day taking the 500-yard freestyle at 4:48.84.

Hufnagel and the Panthers are preparing to host fifth-ranked Tampa in their home opener on Friday, Nov. 22 at 4:30 p.m. at the Panther Aquatic Center.
