Rowe averages 19.5 points per game

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Eastern Florida State College’s Torrance Rowe is this week’s NJCAA Region 8/Florida College System Activities Association Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 19.

Rowe, a sophomore guard from Atlanta, averaged 19.5 points, two rebounds and three assists in two games during the voting period. His efforts led the Titans to a pair of Southern Conference wins over Palm Beach State and Miami Dade.

ROWE AVERAGES 19.5 POINTS PER GAME

Against Palm Beach State, Rowe hit on 7-of-15 shots, including 6-of-11 from the three-point line, and scored 23 points in the Titans’ 82-73 win. He added 16 points in an 86-72 win over Miami Dade.

For the week, Rowe shot 44.8 percent (13-of-29) from the floor, 53.3 percent (8-of-15) from the three-point line and was 5-of-6 from the free throw line.

Rowe also is Eastern Florida’s leading scorer averaging 14.1 points per game.

“It’s very exciting that Torrance was named FCSAA/Region 8 Player of the Week,” said Eastern Florida head coach Jeremy Shulman.

“He has had an outstanding year and an outstanding week. The honor is well deserved and his best basketball is still to come.”
