Mims Big Winner In District 22 All-Star Games

Mims advances in 9-10, 11-12 divisions

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – District 22 All-Star match-ups continued on Sunday in three divisions on the Space Coast.

Over at the Cocoa Beach fields on Minuteman Causeway, the 9-10 Baseball tournament found Mims (visitor) winning over Space Coast 17-0 in 5 innings.

Blake Lind had a triple for Mims.

In 9-10 Baseball action at Jim Hensley Park, Port St. John (home) won 20-8 over Indian River City in 3 & 1/2 innings.

For Indian River City, Hao Nguyen went 3-for-3 with a double and one RBI.  For Port St. John LL, Michael Baumgardner went 3-for-4 with a single, double, triple, and 3 RBI.

Jason Alanti and Ryan Cannon also had triples for Port St. John.

In 11-12 Baseball action at Jim Hensley Park, Mims (visitor) won over Space Coast by a score of 30-7 in 4 innings.

LITTLE-LEAGUE-ALL-STARS-180-12For Mims, Hallie Blake went 5-for-6 with a homer and scoring 5 runs while her teammate, Dawson Martin, also had a home run.

For Space Coast LL, Joey Lynn hit 2 home runs.

In the other 11-12 Baseball game over at McClarty Park, Indian River City (home) won over Rockledge 14-3 in 4 innings.

Rockledge’s Aaron Saltsman, A.J. Hall and Richie Chamberland had doubles for their second straight game and A.J. Hall hit a home run.

INDIAN-RIVER-LITTLE-LEAGUE-180-2Meanwhile, Indian River City’s Trey Felker hit a home run.

In the early Junior Baseball game at Holder Park, Mims (visitor) defeated Port St. John 12-1 in a rain delayed 5 innings which forced a change of venue to W.W. James Park.

The late Junior’s game also took place at W.W. James where Rockledge (visitor) outlasted Indian River City 2-1 in 6 & 1/2 innings.

Indian River City’s Christian Tweedie plated Jalen Smith in the 5th for their run.  During Rockledge’s 5th inning, Chris O’Brien had a RBI double and Brett Parrish had a RBI single to drive in the winning run.
