Encore Performance Set For ‘Broadway By the Beach’

The show employs four performers who do not play the same characters throughout the show, but have consistently developing character arcs. Composer Jason Robert Brown has said of his show, “It’s about one moment. It’s about hitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn around and go back.” The creative team for the performance includes Jeremy Merrifield (Executive Producer), James Sampliner (Musical Direction), and Richard J. Hinds (Associate Director).

Due to popular demand, a second encore showing of “Broadway by the Beach” has been scheduled at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Jaunuary 23.

‘Broadway By the Beach’ Theme of Cocoa Beach Chamber Gala
BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Cocoa Beach native and Broadway producer Jeremy Merrifield is bringing his New York City production, “Songs for a New World,” to his hometown of Cocoa Beach for a one-night-only show.
“Broadway by the Beach” will be the theme of the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce’s annual installation gala on Friday, January 23.
Written by three-time Tony-winning composer Jason Robert Brown and directed by Drama Desk nominee Tony Speciale, the show features Floridians Ashley Brown, Jessica Rush and Michael James Scott.
The event will begin with a cocktail reception at 5 p.m. followed by a locally-sourced “farm-to-table” dinner at 6 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront, located at 2080 N. Atlantic Avenue in Cocoa Beach.
“The Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce is always thinking of innovative ideas to bring to the community while also best serving our chamber partners,” said Linda Webster, CEO of the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce.
“This innovative gala combines our communities love of the arts with the Chamber’s love of its community.”
A portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to the Chamber’s Arts Fund benefitting local art organizations and education programs.
The show will be part of the Chamber’s annual event that includes the installation of the 2015 Board of Directors, along with chairwoman, Jeanna Merrifield, co-owner of Wild Ocean Seafood Market and provider of the evening’s dinner.
In addition, the Chamber will present its prestigious Distinguished Service Award, the highest honor bestowed by the CBRCC on an individual who best exemplifies long-term leadership and commitment to the Chamber and the Space Coast community.
