Elaine Larsen Wins Good Vibrations Nitro Jam

ABOVE VIDEO: Florida Institute of Technology announced earlier this year a powerful and unique affiliation with Larsen Motorsports that will bring the science and engineering of high-tech jet dragsters to the university’s students and highlight Florida Tech’s innovative commitment to STEM education in races across the country.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – 2014 Nitro Jam Jet Dragster champion Elaine Larsen defeated Larsen Motorsports colleague Katarina Moller in the finals of the 2015 Good Vibrations Nitro Jam Southwestern Nationals presented by Budweiser, the inaugural event of the Internatonal Hot Rod Associaton’s 2015 Nitro Jam series.
The race was held Feb. 6-7 at Southwestern International Raceway in Tucson, Ariz.
Larsen, of West Melbourne, won with a time of 5.73 seconds at 281.77 mph. Moller was at 5.85 seconds at 273.50 mph.
Also competing for Brevard-based Larsen Motorsports were Shea Holbrook, driving the recently unveiled Florida Institute of Technology dragster (pictured above) and Marisha Falk.
Larsen told Racing News that after her quick start, a confident Moller was closing the gap. But it wasn’t to be.
“It’s girl power, baby,” Larsen said.
The next scheduled event is the IHRA Nitro Jam Mardi Gras Nationals on March 13-14 at State Capitol Raceway in Port Allen, La.
