Titusville Detectives Search For Shooting Suspects After Gun Battle On Day Street

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – The Titusville police are seeking information and suspects in a “gun battle” type shooting incident on Day Street that happened just after 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Titusville police officers responded to a report of a shooting on Day Street and discovered a vehicle crashed into a tree with two people shot inside.
A third person inside had minor injuries, but was not shot, according to Titusville Police Commander Todd Hutchinson.
“The preliminary investigation reveals that a black Toyota Highlander, stolen out of Cocoa Beach, was involved in an unknown dispute with passengers in another vehicle, described as a dark-colored sedan,” said Commander Hutchinson.
According to police, witnesses described the two vehicles as “shooting” at each other as they drove down Day Street. The black Toyota crashed into a tree and the dark-colored sedan fled the scene.
According to Commander Hutchinson, an adult male and juvenile male were transported to area hospitals with gunshot wounds.
The third person in the stolen vehicle, a juvenile, was taken into custody for questioning.
