International Trade Experts and Economic Officials Headline Florida Tech-EDC Event Oct. 14

Business executives, academic experts and federal and state economic officials will be featured in Global Opportunity Acquired Locally, or GOAL, a 2 ½-hour event hosted by the Florida Tech Research Park and the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast on Wednesday, Oct. 14, that will offer best practices and lessons learned in exporting.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Business executives, academic experts and federal and state economic officials will be featured in Global Opportunity Acquired Locally, or GOAL, a 2 ½-hour event hosted by the Florida Tech Research Park and the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast on Wednesday, Oct. 14, that will offer best practices and lessons learned in exporting.

The event, done in partnership with weVENTURE, is from 8-10:30 a.m. at Florida Institute of Technology’s Center for Aeronautics and Innovation, 1050 W. NASA Blvd. in Melbourne.

GOAL will be an opportunity both for companies new to exporting and those already doing so to better understand how this practice can fit into their operations, as well as to learn about the importance of cultural awareness and its impact on the bottom line.

Attendees will also be informed of the international challenges in the current trading environment.

The event will feature:

  • C –Suite Showcase: Harry Ericson, CFO of Avidyne Inc. – a Melbourne based avionics manufacturer;
  • Understanding Cultures – Understanding Opportunity by Dr. Rich Griffith, professor of industrial/organizational psychology at Florida Institute of Technology and executive director of the university’s Institute for Cross Cultural Management;
  • Discussions by the U.S. Commercial Service and Enterprise Florida focused on developing your plan to access international markets.
