Bicyclist Fatally Injured In Titusville Crash, Police Continue Investigation

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – The Titusville Police Department is investigating a crash that resulted in the death of a bicyclist Thursday evening.
Police responded to a vehicle vs bicycle traffic crash Thursday evening at 5:46 p.m. in the 900 block of N. Washington Avenue, according Lt. Thomas House of the Titusville Police Department.
The preliminary investigation reveals that an adult male bicyclist exited the main entrance/exit of Parrish Medical Center into the path of a Dodge Charger that was traveling northbound.
The driver of the vehicle attempted to swerve to miss the bicyclist but was unsuccessful.
Titusville Fire & Emergency Services provided emergency medical treatment but the bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to Lt. House.
The victim’s name will not be released until his next of kin can be notified.
The driver of the Dodge Charger stopped to assist and is cooperating with investigators.
The results of the investigation will be released by the Traffic Homicide Investigator at the conclusion of his investigation.
