Florida-Tech-Basketball-580-1BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – A new season, still the old Corbin Jackson. Tipping off his redshirt senior campaign over the weekend, the Sunshine State Conference’s double-double leader from a year ago averaged 16 points and 12.5 rebounds en route to a pair of Florida Tech wins and has been awarded the SSC Defensive Player of the Week.

The forward’s presence ignited the Panthers in their opening victory over Clark Atlanta in the NCAA South Regional Challenge, as Florida Tech limited CAU to just 29 points on 29 percent shooting in the first half.

As a whole, the Panthers outrebounded CAU by a healthy 52-37 margin with Jackson accounting for 15 points, 10 boards and four assists in the effort.

Jackson followed up Friday’s performance with 17 points, 15 rebounds, two blocks and two steals to help the Crimson and Gray overcome a 15-point second-half deficit to edge Paine 94-92 in overtime, giving the Panthers their third consecutive 2-0 start.
