BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Women’s golf’s Felicia Leftinger and men’s basketball’s Pat Anderson have been selected as the Panther Student-Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of Feb. 22 to Feb. 28.

Leftinger paved the way for third-ranked Florida Tech as the Panthers captured the St. Edward’s Invitational trophy by 10 strokes over defending national champion Indianapolis.

The win marks the first time Florida Tech has collected back-to-back victories since Oct. 2014 when it reeled in first-place finishes at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate and the Saint Leo Invitational.

A WGCA First Team All-American in 2014-15, Leftinger tied for first with a score of six-over before losing out on individual medalist honors on the first playoff hole to West Texas A&M’s Glory Jangthongsiri.

The Swede tallied 14 pars in her opening-round 73, while the Panthers fired a collective 13-over 293 to set a record in the tournament’s 12th year of existence.

Her five combined birdies were tied for most in the tournament with three other players.

The Florida Tech men’s basketball team celebrated its five seniors prior to Wednesday’s tip-off against Palm Beach Atlantic. However, it was the sophomore point guard, Anderson that took the reins as the Panthers overcame a double-digit halftime deficit to defeat the Sailfish 94-79.

Anderson poured in 20 of his game-high 23 points in the final 20 minutes, accounting for four of Florida Tech’s 10 three-point field goals after the break. Overall, he converted 8-of-10 from the field, including 5-of-7 from long range, to go along with five rebounds and two steals.

The FIT women’s golf team will look to continue its hot streak with the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational, hosted by Rollins, underway Monday in Orlando.

As the No. 7 seed, Anderson and the men’s basketball squad will travel to second-seeded Eckerd for an SSC Tournament Quarterfinal matchup with the Tritons Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET.
