BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police Department and the Brevard County Sheriffs Office raised over $1,500 on Tuesday at the Tip-a-Cop event that took place at the Chick-Fil-A on Malabar Road.
Officers and Police Explorers served as “celebrity waiters” at the event benefiting Special Olympics Florida and the Law Enforcement Torch Run.
The event was so successful that event organizers are already working on future Tip-a-Cop events at additional Chick-Fil-A locations.
“It was a great evening and I just have to say thank-you to the officers and everyone else who took the time to come out and support this event,” said event organizer Detective Steve Hill from the Palm Bay Police Department.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is Thursday, April 14 and the Palm Bay leg will begin at 8 a.m. in front of the parking lot of the Palm Bay City Hall.
