BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Fire Rescue officially placed Temporary Station 9 in service, expanding coverage in one of the fastest-growing areas of South Palm Bay.
Temporary Fire Station 9 in Palm Bay is located in front of Sunrise Elementary School, near the intersection of Babcock Rd SE and Mara Loma Blvd SE.
Palm Bay city officials said that with rapid development over the past two years, the demand for fire and EMS services has grown significantly.
Temporary Station 9 allows Palm Bay Fire Rescue to meet that need, improving response times and enhancing service to our community.
“A special thank you was issued to the staff at Sunrise Elementary for accommodating an engine crew on their campus while the station was finalized,” said a Palm Bay Fire Rescue spokesperson.
“Your support helped maintain coverage during this transition. Another thank-you went out to those who stopped by for a tour.”

As the city continues to expand, Palm Bay Fire Rescue remains a critical pillar of public safety, providing fire suppression, emergency medical care, and prevention services to residents across a wide and growing area.
Headquartered at 899 Carlyle Avenue Southeast, the department operates multiple fire stations strategically positioned throughout the city to ensure rapid emergency response times.
Firefighters and paramedics serve the community around the clock, responding to fires, medical calls, and other emergencies as part of a full-service public safety operation.
Palm Bay Fire Rescue offers a wide range of services beyond emergency response, including fire inspections, safety education, smoke detector checks, and community outreach programs aimed at preventing emergencies.
Residents can also access resources, including station tours, fire drills, and emergency preparedness assistance, through the department.

The agency serves more than 100,000 residents across a large geographic area, reflecting the increasing demand for fire and medical services in one of Brevard County’s fastest-growing cities.
To meet that demand, the department operates several fire stations equipped with specialized apparatus and personnel trained to handle a variety of emergency situations.
Leadership within the department includes Fire Chief Richard Stover and a team of deputy and assistant chiefs who oversee operations, training, and administration.
