FORECAST FOR EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA: The main threats from the tropical system will be heavy rainfall, strong wind gusts, severe or tornadic storms and hazardous boating conditions Monday and Tuesday.

UPDATE: Tropical Storm Colin has formed in the Gulf of Mexico.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The disturbance in the southern Gulf of Mexico has become TROPICAL DEPRESSION #3.

As of 11 a.m., the depression was located about 550 miles southwest of Tampa and moving toward the north.

Tropical Depression #3 is forecast to become a Tropical Storm before moving onshore the Gulf Coast Monday evening. A tropical storm warning has been posted for much of the Gulf Coast of Florida.
