FORT MYERS, FLORIDA – After many days of anticipation, viewers from across the world tuned in to witness the hatching of a Bald Eagle baby eaglet in Southwest Florida Saturday morning.
Harriet and M15, the mother and father of the baby eaglet, laid two eggs back on November 22 and November 25. Ever since, the Eagles have shared the task of incubating their eggs while remaining watchful of potential predators.
The eaglet, or E9 (experts have named it Eaglet 9), may not be alone as the other egg has not yet cracked the shell. Fans still hope to have two baby eaglets as the next few days will determine whether E9 will be alone or not.
The 2016-2017 season is the fifth season Dick Pritchett Real Estate has provided the live look into this Southwest Florida nest.

In the first few seasons, Harriet was captured on video with her mate, “Ozzie,” raising their two eaglets.
Ozzie passed away in 2015 after being found by Fish and Wildlife officers with an injury that he could not recover from, after being spotted fighting with a male eagle in the area.
Harriet settled on a new mate, “M15,” and this is the second season of hatchings for this pair of eagles.
