BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is turning up the heat on impaired driving with a powerful public awareness campaign: The BCSO Drunk Olympics.

This initiative isn’t a celebration—it’s a wake-up call.

“The ‘Drunk Olympics’ isn’t an event you want to participate in, and it’s definitely not one where you win,” said Sheriff Wayne Ivey.

“It’s what we call it when someone chooses to get behind the wheel while intoxicated, making reckless decisions that put innocent lives at risk.”

BCSO makes it clear: If you choose to drink and drive in Brevard County, you could very well find yourself featured in the BCSO Drunk Olympics.

“We’re not concerned about hurting feelings—we’re concerned about saving lives. This campaign is bold because the consequences of drunk driving are deadly serious,” said Sheriff Ivey.

“I’m not here to protect feelings—I’m here to protect our citizens. Drunk drivers put everyone’s lives in danger, and we’re going to continue doing everything we can to stop them in their tracks.”

BCSO encourages all residents and visitors to make wise choices:

● Designate a sober driver

● Use ride-sharing services or taxis

● Stay where you are if you’ve been drinking

Drinking and driving is never worth the risk. You might think you’re okay to drive, but if you’re impaired, law enforcement will find you, and we will take action.

So here’s your warning: Don’t be a competitor in the Drunk Olympics. Make responsible choices and help keep our roads safe.

“Stay Safe, Brevard County,” said Sheriff Ivey.
