BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – On Saturday, members of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and the Palm Bay Police Department were notified by a local citizen that Wheel of Fugitive suspect, Billy G. Massingill was at a local Pawn Shop on Babcock Street in Palm Bay where he had previously pawned various items.

As a result of the tip, Officers from the Palm Bay Police Department immediately responded to the area in an attempt to take Massingill into custody.

As Officers from the Palm Bay Police Department approached Massingill he immediately attempted to flee on foot and was pursued by the officers.

After a short foot pursuit, Massingill got to experience the “5 second ride” as we call it when one of the officers deployed their Taser.

Massingill was immediately taken into custody for Violation of Probation on Heroin charges and Resisting Arrest.

During the conduct of the arrest and investigation Massingill’s mother, Teresa Shumate who drove Massingill to the Pawn Shop was found to be in possession of Crystal Meth and was also arrested on charges for possession of Meth.

Both Massingill and his mom were transported to the Brevard County Jail where our Corrections Deputies and Booking Team eagerly awaited their arrival.

I guess its fair to say that the family that does drugs together goes to jail together.

This is another perfect example of what happens when citizens and Law Enforcement work together to protect their community!
