BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA –  Riverwalk, a  Family Park located at 5355 U.S. Highway in Rockledge, will have a ribbon cutting for their new Nature Explore Classroom from 2-3 p.m. Friday, April 28.

Come explore this new creative play space made possible through a grant from National Recreation and Parks Association in collaboration with The Walt Disney Company.

Nature Explore is a collaborative program of the Arbor Day Foundation and Dimensions Educational Research Foundation, nonprofit organizations.

The mission of this comprehensive, research-based initiative is to help children and families develop a profound engagement with the natural world, where nature is an integral, joyful part of children’s daily learning.

Nature Explore Classrooms include the large motor skill development of a traditional playground but go well beyond that to bring in elements of fine motor skills, art, music, construction, gardening, exploration, and imagination all using natural materials.

Sponsors for the Nature Explore Classroom at Riverwalk Park include Atlantic Environmental Solutions, Brevard Zoo, Coastal Health Systems of Brevard, Conradina Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society, Maple Street Natives and The Viera Company.
