UPDATE: Orange County Sheriff Says 5 Dead After ‘Disgruntled’ Ex-Employee Opens Fire

UPDATE: Five people, plus the 45-year-old shooter, are dead following what is being called a “workplace shooting” at at Fiamma RV awning company, located on Forsyth Road in Orlando.

According to Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings, the 45-year-old shooter was a “disgruntled employee,” and armed with a knife and a gun, and shot himself.

The shooter, who has not yet been identified, was a former employee fired last April.

Demings said there is currently no evidence that the shooter was a member of a terrorist group but has been arrested on DUI and marijuana possession charges in the past.

The sheriff’s office said that the incident began about 8 a.m. at Fiamma, a RV awning company, and has been stabilized, but stated there are “multiple fatalities.”

According to authorities, there is no longer a threat to the community, and there are no suspects at large.

“I will remain in contact with the Orlando law enforcement community throughout the day as more information is made available,” said Florida Gov. Rick Scott.
