BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Police Agents with the Special Investigations Unit have arrested two suspects after authorities busted a drug trafficking home operation on 259 Lemon St. in Cocoa on Friday.
Police identified the suspects as 37-year-old Johnnise Kimbrough and 32-year-old Joseph Ward.
According to Yvonne Martinez of the Cocoa Police Department, agents seized trafficking amounts of marijuana, heroin and prescription drugs after a month long investigation.
Police say on Friday the SIU agents, along with the Cocoa SWAT team carried out a search warrant for the residence after evidence gathered over the last several weeks indicated the people who lived in the house were selling marijuana from the home.
After SWAT team members seized the suspects in the home, authorities confiscated more than 400 grams of marijuana, 14 grams of heroin, 11 grams of crack cocaine and more than 100 pills including Xanax and other opiates.
Kimbrough is facing a series of felony charges including possession of cocaine, trafficking heroin, possession of marijuana more than 20 grams, and possession of schedule II substance (narcotics).
Kimbrough has since been released after posting a $23,000 bond, according to police.
Ward is being held without bond due to the violation of community control and is also facing charges for possession of marijuana.
