Following an impressive week on the hardwood, Florida Tech’s Jordan Majors has been named the Sunshine State Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, announced by the SSC office on Monday. 

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Following an impressive week on the hardwood, Florida Tech’s Jordan Majors has been named the Sunshine State Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, announced by the SSC office. 

This is the second career player of the week nod for Majors.

The redshirt-senior played a crucial role offensively for FIT last week, posting consecutive 32-point games and averaging six rebounds and five assists per game to lead the Panthers to a 1-1 record.

Majors recorded 32 points on 10-for-18 shooting, 11-for-15 on free throws, five rebounds and seven assists in a narrow 95-90 loss to Barry on Wednesday.

Majors then scored 32 points on 12-for-21 shooting, 6-for-6 on free throws, seven rebounds and three assists to guide FIT to an 86-77 come from behind victory over Palm Beach Atlantic on the road.

The win over PBA also gave head coach Billy Mims his 600th career win.

The Florida Tech men’s basketball team is back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 21, hosting Embry-Riddle in SSC action at the Clemente Center. Tip-off against the Eagles is set for 7:30 p.m.
