Betty Thompson Stoy Passed Away Peacefully at Age of 83 on May 11 in Melbourne, Florida

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Betty Thompson Stoy passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on Friday, May 11, 2018, in Melbourne, Florida, with her son Jeffrey Stoy by her side.
She was born on September 3, 1934, in Ft. Payne, Alabama. Betty is survived by her two sons Thomas H. Stoy, Jr. and Jeffrey A. Stoy. She is survived by two daughters-in-law, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Following graduation from high school, Betty was employed at the FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C., where she worked as a secretary from 1952-1956. In 1955, she married Thomas H. Stoy, who was also employed with the FBI.
They lived in Atlanta, GA, Miami, FL and Washington D.C. during her husband’s twenty-eight years as an FBI Agent. Betty and Tom were happily married for 63 years.
Upon Tom’s retirement in 1980, they traveled throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, the Far East and Africa. As an avid reader she was a member of the Suntree community book club. She was a long time church member with Suntree United Methodist Church. Mrs. Stoy will be deeply missed by family, friends, neighbors and all who knew her.
