ABOVE VIDEO: The Palm Bay Police Department has teamed up with Disability Independence Group to offer the Wallet Card Project, a program developed through a partnership with Coral Gables Police Department and UM-NSU Center for Autism and Related Disabilities.

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police Department has teamed up with Disability Independence Group to offer the Wallet Card Project, a program developed through a partnership with Coral Gables Police Department and UM-NSU Center for Autism and Related Disabilities.

The wallet card, along with an interactive training with police officers, helps individuals communicate clearly with law enforcement and includes information such as the person’s name, disability, emergency contact and any specific triggers.

Individuals applying for the card can watch a short that explains how to use the card and provides tips on how to safely interact with law enforcement.
